Rated for 8–10 people. The size most families need.

Our most popular underground shelter, and for good reason. Six feet by eight feet of interior space is plenty for a family, a couple of dogs, a tub of supplies, and the peace of mind you'll sleep easier with. Same concrete. Same rebar. Same steel door. Just the right footprint for most yards.

The Jumbo

The 7×10

Rated for 12–14 people. Because neighbors knock too.

When the sky turns green, the doorbell rings. The 7×10 gives you room for extended family, a couple of neighbors, grandkids, and whoever else shows up. Same heavy-duty construction as the 6×8, just with the elbow room to breathe. Popular with ranchers, churches, and anyone who's ever had to tell somebody "there's no room."

Both shelter sizes can be upgraded to our EZ Entry configuration for folks with mobility challenges — bad knees, a bad back, a walker, a wheelchair user, or anyone who doesn't want to duck and squat to get to safety.

6000 PSI Concrete

Double the density of standard residential concrete. Naturally resists water infiltration and provides superior structural integrity under impact loads.

Fiberglass Reinforcement

Fiberglass strands are mixed directly into the concrete slurry — "Fibercrete" — creating a secondary moisture barrier and increasing tensile strength throughout the entire structure.

Rebar Cage, 12" Centers

Deformed steel rebar laid on 12-inch centers through walls, floor, and lid. Fully bonded to the concrete matrix — it's one unit, not bolted pieces.

3-Point Lock Steel Door

Heavy-gauge steel door with three locking points that engage into the steel frame. Spring-assisted for easy opening. Won't be pushed in by wind pressure or jammed by debris.

We also install 6×8 concrete above-ground safe rooms and a variety of custom-fabricated steel safe rooms. Pricing on steel units varies by size and configuration. All above-ground units are tested to withstand EF5 conditions.

Limited Warranty

Backed for a decade.

10-Year Limited Warranty

Tornado Alley Storm Shelters warrants to the original consumer purchaser of an underground concrete storm shelter that it will repair or, at its sole discretion, replace the shelter if there is substantial water leakage into the shelter caused by a defect in material or workmanship in the concrete structure or in the seal between the two concrete subunits. This limited warranty is in effect for ten (10) years from the documented date of purchase as established by a written sales order or receipt.

Exclusions From Limited Warranty

  • All incidental or consequential damages.
  • All implied warranties, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose and warranty of merchantability.
  • All defects, damages, or injuries caused by misuse, abuse, improper installation, improper maintenance, alteration, neglect, or uses other than those for which the products were intended.
  • All conditions, damages, or injuries caused by normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues, small cracks, climatic conditions, or water leakage around the door and ventilator.
  • Door hinges, ventilators, and any other components that may be subject to another manufacturer's warranty.

Tornado Alley Storm Shelters cannot predict, and does not warrant in any way, actual performance of any storm shelter under any conditions, including conditions of tornadoes or severe storms. There is no other express warranty on this product.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Some states do not allow exclusion of or limitation of how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply. This warranty gives the original consumer purchaser specific legal rights, and the original consumer purchaser may have other rights which vary from state to state. Steel safe rooms come with a 10-year fabrication warranty.
