Tornado Alley is a small family owned business that has been selling and installing shelters in Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1999.
We pride ourselves at doing business the old fashioned way. We don’t do contracts or require deposits! If you call or text, you’ll get a quick response from a real person who will be able to answer any questions you may have about our shelters.
If you choose to move forward with the purchase of a shelter, all you have to do is say “put me on the schedule” and give us some very basic information so we can get you on the books. It’s that easy!
Sometime between the time you get on the schedule and the actual install date, we will set up a day/time to do a no cost site visit. This is to meet you in person as well as to make sure we have the necessary space needed to maneuver our equipment around.
We will stay in touch and reach out a couple of days prior to installation day just to make sure nothing has changed on your end. The price you’re quoted is the price you’ll pay when the job is done! The exception to this would be if we hit solid rock and have to get a jackhammer involvedThere is an hourly up charge in that case, It’s very rare but can happen in certain terrains.

6×8 Slope Front Storm Shelters

When it comes to protecting your family, I don’t believe in cutting corners—and neither do the folks who build these shelters. I only install what I’d trust to keep my people safe.
This 6×8 slope-front underground shelter is poured with 6,000 psi concrete—strong enough to stand the test of time and the fury of a West Texas sky. Reinforced with both steel rebar and fiber, it’s built like a bunker but made for peace of mind.
Every unit comes standard with:
- Double handrails on the steps
- Gas-operated door closer
- 8” wind turbine for ventilation
- A secondary 6” vent for airflow
No upcharges. No nickel-and-diming. That’s just how we do things.
Installation includes everything:
We dig the hole, set the shelter, and backfill—start to finish. If you’d rather dig the hole yourself, here’s the straight truth:
- Dig it 8′ wide by 10′ long
- Depth: 53″ flat—no deeper, no sloppy backfill
- Make sure it’s square and level, especially in all four corners
- Use a 2×4 and a level, or a transit, to check
- Don’t over-dig and refill—that causes headaches when things settle
If rock’s in the way, we’ll work with it. But the better the prep, the smoother the set. I show up ready to work—if the hole’s good, we’re done before you know it. If not, we’ll still get it done, but it’ll take longer.
Bottom line: I don’t make promises I can’t keep, and I don’t install shelters I wouldn’t crawl into myself. Let’s get you protected—no red tape, just results.

Tornado Alley Storm Shelters warrants to the original consumers purchaser of an underground concrete storm shelter that it will repair or, at its sole discretion, replace the shelter if there is substantial water leakage into the shelter caused by a defect in material or workmanship in the concrete structure or int he seal between the two concrete subunits. This Limited Warranty is in effect for ten (10) years from the documented date of purchase as established by a written sales order or receipt.
Exclusions from Limited Warranty
- ALL INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
- ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY.
- All defects, damages, or injuries cause by misuse, abuse, improper installation, improper maintenance, alteration, neglect, or uses other than those for which products were intended.
- All conditions, damages, or injuries caused by normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues, small cracks, climatic conditions, or water leakage around the door and ventilator.
- Door hinges, ventilators, and any other components that may be subject to another manufacturer’s warranty.

Tornado Alley Storm Shelters cannot predict, and does not warrant in any way, actual performance of any storm shelter under any conditions, including conditions of tornadoes or severe storms.
THERE IS NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTY ON THIS PRODUCT.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply. Some states do no t allow exclusion of or limitation of how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply. This warranty gives the original consumer purchaser specific legal rights, and the original consumer purchaser may have other rights which vary from state to state.
